We are about a month away from Paramount+’s launch and there's a lot of things to cover so let’s not hesitate.
Why Paramount+?
Paramount+ actually launched in some European and Latin American countries in 2017. Why didn’t it reach the US? Well, it probably had to do with the merger. Viacom probably wanted CBS’s syndicated, sports, and news offerings but the head of CBS Corps dissed Viacom and rather have MGM or Lionsgate but lost his job due to conspiracies around women. And so 2019 was when Viacom Inc and CBS Corporation merged together for the second time and a few months later was when they announced they were going to rebrand CBS All Access with the Paramount+ name.
When will it come?
Paramount+ will launch on March 4, 2021, in the US and parts of Latin America. It will launch in Canada the same day but the expanded offering would come later in the year. It will also launch in the Nordics on March 25 and Australia in mid-21.
How much will it cost?
Paramount+ will cost $9.99 for no ads with everything included. The $4.99 basic tier will be available in June with live CBS streams not available and ads included.
NOTE: You can get a year of Paramount+ for $50 without ads with the code “PARAMOUNTPLUS”
