'Star Trek: Lower Decks' Ending With Season 5 This Fall; 'Strange New Worlds' Voyages On With Season 4 Renewal

Paramount+ likes Pike, and isn’t letting  Lower Decks   overQuaid its welcome. Just two weeks later than last year, the streamer has renewed  Star Trek: Strange New Worlds   for a fourth season as it awaits the premiere of its third, while announcing that the fifth season of Star Trek:   Lower Decks , which was ordered with that third, will premiere this fall and conclude the series.  Lower Decks creator, showrunner and executive producer Mike McMahan and executive producer Alex Kurtzman, who has been the shepherd of the greater  Star Trek   TV resurgence that began with  Discovery  in 2017 (which itself is in the midst of its final season) released a statement regarding  Lower Decks’  end being in sight, in tribute to the show and the fans: To the fans, We wanted to let you know that this fall will be the fifth and final season of  Star Trek: Lower Decks . Another Live-Action 'Dora the Explorer' Movie in Development At Paramount+

And we thought she was done exploring.

Paramount is reportedly developing a live-action Dora the Explorer movie for a 2023 release on Paramount+.

It's unsure if the live-action series that was announced back in 2021 is being reworked into this movie or if they're doing both at the same time with the movie as a backdoor pilot.

The live-action series could/would be inspired by the tone of the live-action movie Dora and the Lost City of Gold, with this new version for Paramount+ targeting the tween demo.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold is directed by James Bobin, produced by Christopher Robin producer Kristin Burr, who is joined by longtime Bobin associate, executive producer John G. Scotti (The Muppets, Muppets Most Wanted, Alice Through the Looking Glass) as well as executive producers Julia Pistor (The Spiderwick Chronicles, A Series of Unfortunate Events) and Eugenio Derbez. Tom Wheeler wrote the story, and Nicholas Stoller and Matthew Robinson penned the screenplay. Walden Media is co-financing and co-producing the film with Paramount. Dora and the Lost City of Gold was filmed entirely in Australia's Gold Coast, in the state of Queensland on the continent's east coast south of Brisbane.

The animated Dora the Explorer series is still slated for 2023 on Paramount+ as nothing has changed. All we know is that the girl and her monkey friend from Costa Rica is going to make a grand return.

What do you think about Dora getting another movie?
