'September 5' Covers Its Streaming Date

Have a few Munich knacks. Paramount announced on Monday morning that Best Original Screenplay Oscar and Critics Choice nominee September 5 is headed to Paramount+ tomorrow, Tuesday February 25 in the United States and Canada. International rollout will, as usual, be revealed at a later date, but it never quite gets the coverage the domestic arrival to the platform does. The film was first given a limited release on December 13, and considering Sony Pictures ’s Saturday Night ’s limited release on September 27 was what brought it to Sony’s typical 120-day window for its films when it landed on Netflix on January 25 despite a wide release on October 11, it’s clearly the best way to gauge speed. And for Paramount’s 2024 slate, it’s actually a pretty slow 74 days, as even Sonic the Hedgehog 3 demonstrated a week ago that everyone else tends to be around 60 days, with a few films going 53. Sonic 3  opened a week later on December 20 and arrived on February 18. September 5 ...

The 'Frasier' Revival Welcomes Anders Keith And Jess Salgueiro

The Frasier cast continues to grow! After recasting the radio psychologist's son Freddy with Jack Cutmore-Scott and bringing aboard Nicholas Lyndhurst as Professor Alan Cornwall, Frasier's boozy old college buddy, another pair has boarded the Paramount+ revival: Anders Keith and Jess Salgueiro.

Keith, in his first television or film role, is set to play David. David is the son of Niles Crane and Daphne Moon, and was born during the original series finale. Thus, he's Frasier's nephew, an "awkward college freshman with a penchant for off-kilter observations." David has his father's intelligence, and his mother's smile, but seemingly neither of their elegance. He has a bit of unearned confidence some are bewildered by, but his sincere enthusiasm is something his uncle has been pretty fond of. Keith graduated Julliard just last May.

But hey, cousin Freddy's got a roommate! Her name is Eve, and she'll be played by Salgueiro. She's described as "spontaneous, outgoing, and bursting with creative energy", even when it wasn't called for. She apparently connects with Frasier as much as she has with his son and thus becomes the connective tissue and biggest cheerleader in their journey to reconciliation. Salgueiro has appeared in such shows as Y: The Last Man, Letterkenny, Workin’ Moms, The Boys, and The Expanse. She will also be appearing in Apple's upcoming Godzilla series.

Originally announced just about two years ago, the public still only has that vague plot summary to go off of. It's still not known what new city Frasier is off to, which now presumably amounts to where David is going to college and where Freddy has uprooted himself in this current low point, but it can't be Chicago since that's where he landed nearly 20 years ago, it wouldn't be all that new. Wherever they are, viewers will find out when the revival premieres sometime this year.
