'Tulsa King' Spinoff 'NOLA King' With Samuel L. Jackson In The Works

Saaaaaalutations! If you thought Paramount+ nabbing Sylvester Stallone to star in Tulsa King said something about what television had become, hear this out: Tulsa King has a New Orleans-set spinoff in development, aptly titled NOLA King , and it’s set to star Samuel L. Jackson. Exact details of NOLA King are under wraps, but Jackson’s character,   Russell Lee Washington Jr.,   has been described as similar to Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi. The series would be set up by a recurring arc in Tulsa King ’s third season, currently in production in Oklahoma and Atlanta, which explains why Variety ’s  telling didn’t call the single appearance they implied as a backdoor pilot. 'Beavis and Butt-Head' Revival Season 2 Premiere Date Announced On Show's 30th Anniversary

Happy anniversary Beavis and Butt-Head! On March 8, 1993, the duo debuted on MTV, and thirty years later Paramount+ announced a premiere date for the second season of the revival, the series' tenth season overall.

It'll premiere on Thursday, April 20, which is that very special stoners' date. Seems pretty intentional. At least in the United States and Canada, anyway. In the United Kingdom and Australia, it'll be the following day, April 21, with an actual wait involved for both because even the time differences won't make it so. It looks like they will continue to be weekly releases. A teaser was also released which can be watched below.

This season is the second of the two seasons originally ordered for Comedy Central in July 2020, as part of a still-in-progress push toward adult animation by the network. It would make its move to Paramount+ in February 2022, shortly before the Paramount+ original movie reestablishing the characters, Beavis and Butt-Head Do The Universe premiered in June. The first revival season would follow in August and run through October. It would then make its way to Comedy Central after all just last month, paired with the newest season of South Park on Wednesday nights at 10:30 PM.

While the main characters originated in creator Mike Judge’s 1992 short film Frog Baseball, showcased on MTV's Liquid Television, the series built around them would originally run for seven seasons until November 28, 1997, and return for an eighth season in 2011. This current run of the series is executive-produced by Judge, Lew Morton and Michael Rotenberg, and for Titmouse Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Ben Kalina and Antonio Canobbio. The series's first film, Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, is also streaming on the service, while the complete series remastered is gradually making its way.
