'September 5' Covers Its Streaming Date

Have a few Munich knacks. Paramount announced on Monday morning that Best Original Screenplay Oscar and Critics Choice nominee September 5 is headed to Paramount+ tomorrow, Tuesday February 25 in the United States and Canada. International rollout will, as usual, be revealed at a later date, but it never quite gets the coverage the domestic arrival to the platform does. The film was first given a limited release on December 13, and considering Sony Pictures ’s Saturday Night ’s limited release on September 27 was what brought it to Sony’s typical 120-day window for its films when it landed on Netflix on January 25 despite a wide release on October 11, it’s clearly the best way to gauge speed. And for Paramount’s 2024 slate, it’s actually a pretty slow 74 days, as even Sonic the Hedgehog 3 demonstrated a week ago that everyone else tends to be around 60 days, with a few films going 53. Sonic 3  opened a week later on December 20 and arrived on February 18. September 5 ...

'PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie' Gets Release Date Moved Up

The PAW Patrol really will be in theaters on the double. On Monday, Spin Master Entertainment, Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures announced that PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie will open two weeks earlier than previously set.

The sequel to 2021's PAW Patrol: The Movie, of course based on the preschool series that has been airing on Nickelodeon since 2013, has moved up from October 13 to September 29. The first film had a day-and-date streaming release on Paramount+ and is considered one of the major successes of the streaming service's first year. While the series is about Ryder and his crew of search and rescue dogs, the PAW Patrol, going on missions to protect their community, the sequel sees a magical meteor give the team pups superpowers and transform them into the Mighty Pups. Meanwhile Humdinger breaks out of jail and teams up with a meteor-obsessed mad scientist Victoria Vance, seeking to steal the superpowers to become supervillains.

The film stars Finn Lee-Epp replacing Will Brisbin as Ryder, Luxton Handspiker continuing as Rubble, which he began on the spinoff Rubble & Crew, and the returning Marsai Martin, Ron Pardo, and Callum Shoniker. New characters are set to be voiced by Taraji P. Henson, Kristen Bell, Christian Convery, McKenna Grace, Brice Gonzalez, Lil Rel Howery, Alan Kim, James Marsden, Serena Williams, Christian Corrao, and Nylan Parthipan. Kim Kardashian is also returning, but this time there are also roles for her kids North and Saint West. Cal Brunker returns as director, from his and Bob Barlen's script. Jennifer Dodge, Laura Clunie and Toni Stevens are produccers. Barlen also serves as associate producer. The other film opening on its new weekend is one from Universal, however they haven't announced what their film is yet.
