The third season of hit Paramount+ drama Mayor of Kingstown may be just weeks away, but it seems there was one more discovery to make in terms of casting. Matt Del Negro, star of Showtime series City on a Hill is joining the cast in a recurring role.

Of the new season’s ten episodes, Del Negro will appear in five of them as Will Breen, a charming, seemingly good natured corrections officer at the Kingstown Women’s Prison. He is best known as Detective Chris Caysen on Showtime’s City on a Hill opposite Kevin Bacon and Aldis Hodge, recently guest-starring on Ryan Murphy’s The Watcher and recurring on David E. Kelley’s Peacock series The Calling, Netflix’s Huge in France, and Amazon’s Goliath. Del Negro’s film credits include the crime thriller Laroy. He will next be seen in crime thriller Hotel Cocaine, which premieres in June on MGM+, and back on Peacock for limited series Long Bright River with Amanda Seyfried.

Mayor of Kingstown stars Jeremy Renner as Mike McLusky, and its third season premieres June 2 in the United States and Canada and next day in all other Paramount+ territories. the Russian mob come into Kingstown following a series of devastating explosions. They exploit such vulnerability and open up operations, while a drug war rages inside and outside prison walls. The pressure builds on Mike to end the war. Complications arise when a familiar face from his incarcerated past threatens to undermine the Mayor’s attempts to keep the peace. McLusky is the latest in his family to be Mayor, top power broker in the Michigan town. There, prison is the only profitable business as they attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither instead overrun with systemic racism, corruption and inequality. Its recurring cast this season also includes Richard Brake, Denny Love, and Paula Malcomson as the newest alongside the returning Nichole Galicia and Necar Zadegan as Rebecca and Evelyn Foley.
