'iCarly' Revival Season 3 Trailer Embraces The Future Of Creddie

Seems the toughest ships really can withstand it all. On Thursday, Paramount+ released the trailer for the third revival season of iCarly, which will premiere Thursday, June 1 in the United States and Canada with two episodes. Single episodes will release weekly from there. It'll be the most dramatic season of any show ever, This returns the series to the streamer's typical day for releasing new episodes of originals after doing so on Fridays for season two.

It will have been a year since season two ended by the time June 1 comes, as the last episode aired on June 3, 2022. After Carly admitted to intervening on Freddie's girlfriend Pearl's plans for his birthday party to give him something he'd enjoy, Pearl walks in on their discussion at the point Freddie admits she'll never know him better than Carly does, she agrees, and walks out. In season three, the complications of being an adult persist for Carly, her brother, and her friends.

The trailer's first parsable scene sees Freddie down on one knee ready to propose to Pearl, or at least he's practicing. However, Carly steps through the door this time, brewing as much awkwardness as one can imagine. They try to laugh it off later to little avail. But apparently, they reconcile well as during a flourishing period for Pearl and Freddie, Carly is having trouble coping as her feelings bubble. While she claims she wants to focus on her friendship, nobody's buying it. Her manager Paul, played by Josh Peck, sees the formed love triangle, though he at first thinks Carly and Freddie were, well "smashing". Carly denies it's there, calling it a line for Freddie and Pearl while she and Freddie are a "squiggle", as she puts it. At another point, Freddie promises he will always be there for her. As time goes on, Pearl becomes angrier, calling them obsessed with one another. Enough to say she missed Carly with an ax at an ax-throwing bar. But maybe her aim will get better. They then embrace at the archway canopy adorned with photos apparently taped to TV screens adorning the archway that was seen sparking at the start of the trailer. As it goes "You're the person who I can always count on," Carly confesses. "Is this really happening?" Freddie asks, to which she responds "It took us long enough," before putting her arms around Freddie's neck.

Yup, iCarly is diving headfirst into Creddie after over 15 years of their friendship and nearly a decade of onscreen chemistry. We'll see if it works. The series stars Miranda Cosgrove as Carly, Nathan Kress as Freddie, Jerry Trainor as her brother Spencer, Laci Mosley as Carly's roommate Harper, and Jaidyn Triplett as Freddie's stepdaughter Millicent. The trailer confirms Mary Scheer, Jeremy Rowley, and Reed Alexander will be putting in appearances as Freddie's mother Marissa Benson, former nemesis Nevel Papperman and former doorman Lewbert. They all began their roles in the original series. The season trailer can be watched below, and every previous season of iCarly, both the Nickelodeon original and the Paramount+ revival, are streaming on the latter.
