Next 'South Park' Special Fattens Up In 'The End Of Obesity'; Watch Trailer

Where in the world is season 27 of South Park ? The public certainly doesn’t know. If the trades do, they’re not saying. But somehow, the next Paramount+ special is coming anyway, specifically next week. The streamer has announced “The End of Obesity” will take South Park on an Ozempic tale when it premieres May 24 in the United States and Canada, and May 25 in Australia, Latin America, Brazil, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. It’s somewhat better advance notice than what the previous special “ (Not Suitable For Children) ” received, as while it had “print” ads on websites and its trailer ran on YouTube , it wasn’t officially released and properly uploaded until the day of its December 20 release. The description tells that new weight loss drugs have entered the culture of South Park, to massive impact. When Cartman is denied access to the life-changing medicine, Kyle, Stan, Butters and Kenny jump into action on his order. Cartman gazes at himself in the mirror, lam

Kid Cudi (Inadvertently?) Reveals The Knuckles Series Release Window

How did you move forward despite filming again and again and again and again and again and again? Well, for Kid Cudi, that's wrapping production.

The rapper and actor tweeted out on Wednesday that he wrapped production on the Knuckles the Echidna-centered spinoff series of the Sonic the Hedgehog films, and revealed something that hasn't quite been publicly announced. He stated "Officially wrapped on Knuckles!!! This was easily one of the illest experiences Ive ever had on any set ever. U will LOVE what these guys have created for you. I am so proud of what we made. Knuckles comin this fall!!" That's right, apparently the series is coming this fall, a few months away.

No release window had been announced, but if this holds, it could be quite a balanced point between the second film, which released in April 2022, and the third film, still set for a December 2024 release. The series, which is a Paramount+ original, is set between them after all. In it, Knuckles is on a journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Green Hills deputy sheriff Wade Whipple the ways of the Echidna warrior. Idris Elba reprises his role as Knuckles, which he began with the second film, while Whipple, who appeared in both films, will continue to be played by Adam Pally.

Cudi, real name Scott Mescudi, has a recurring role on the series, as do Ellie Taylor, Edi Patterson of The Righteous Gemstones and The Fungies!, and Julian Barratt from The Mighty Boosh. Guest stars include Tika Sumpter, returning from the films as Maddie Wachowski, wife of James Marsden's Tom Wachowski, and Transformers: EarthSpark's Rory McCann. No information on the new characters have been released, though additional casting is still expected to be announced.

Production began in April, with Jeff Fowler, director of both films so far, directing the pilot and serving as an executive producer. John Whittington, who worked on the screenplay for 2, wrote the Knuckles pilot and serves as head writer and executive producer. Brian Schacter and James Madejski are also writing for the series. Several members of the films' creative team, Neal H. Moritz and Toby Ascher of Original Film and Toru Nakahara, come over to executive produce. Jorma Taccone, Ged Wright, Brandon Trost, and Carol Banker are also directing episodes. Paramount Pictures and Sega of America produce as they do the film.
