'Happy Face' Brings In The Kids And A Recurring David Harewood

The upcoming Paramount+ drama series Happy Face has found all of its series regulars and jonesed for its recurring talk show host and Melissa’s boss. The final series regulars found are  Khiyla Aynne   and Benjamin Mackey, while Supergirl alum David Harewood is racking in the ratings. As one could surmise, Aynne and Mackey play Melissa (played by Annaleigh Ashford )’s kids with husband Ben, played by James Wolk . Specifically, Aynne  plays Hazel, their  secure and happy  15-year-old daughter who initially believes that her mother is off on a simple business trip. However,  she soon starts suspecting that something dire is going on, beginning to investigate and uncover the shocking circumstances of her mother’s past.  Mackey plays  lively   9-year-old Max, who takes his stable upbringing for granted and doesn’t grow his older sister’s suspicions regarding mom’s sudden absence. He instead steadfastly believes she’s producing some sort of on-location segment for  The Dr. Greg Show . A

'The Thundermans Return' Brings First Poster To Vidcon

Just in time for VidCon, Nickelodeon released the first poster for The Thundermans Return, the reunion follow-up movie to the 2013-2018 superhero series The Thundermans. It may also give a clearer picture as to how the film will be rolled out.

Star Kira Kosarin, who plays Phoebe Thunderman and serves as an executive producer on the film, participated in two panels at the convention, where the posters adorned the walls she posed in front of on Instagram. It is Phoebe who is featured on the poster, though her face is not. There's a glimpse of the new super suit as well. It declares that the movie is coming in 2024. This makes sense, as it keeps it better spaced out from July's Zoey 102, October's Monster High 2, and Thanksgiving's Good Burger 2. However, the poster only says the movie will stream on Paramount+ but not necessarily that it's original. In addition, whether it airs on Nickelodeon either is also unclear, as Monster High's posters had both Nickelodeon and Paramount+ indicated on the same line. The poster for The Thundermans Return is below.

The Thundermans Return centers around the superpowered family beginning a new era of superhero crime fighting. However, this suffers an apparent setback as a failed mission sends them back to Hiddenville. Hank and Barb enjoy their return, with Billy and Nora looking forward to a normal high school experience, but Max and Phoebe are eager to get back their superhero status. It also stars the also-executive producing Jack Griffo as Max, Addison Riecke as Nora, Diego Velazquez as Billy, Maya Le Clark as youngest child Chloe, Rosa Blasi as mom Barb, and Chris Tallman as dad Hank, with Harvey Guillén returning as Blobbin and Dana Snyder presumably back as Dr. Colosso

Series creator and executive producer Jed Spingarn fills those roles again for The Thundermans Return, while also writing the script. Trevor Kirschner, who previously directed episodes of the series, is the film’s director as well. The other executive producers are Dan Cross and David Hoge.
