'Tulsa King' Spinoff 'NOLA King' With Samuel L. Jackson In The Works

Saaaaaalutations! If you thought Paramount+ nabbing Sylvester Stallone to star in Tulsa King said something about what television had become, hear this out: Tulsa King has a New Orleans-set spinoff in development, aptly titled NOLA King , and it’s set to star Samuel L. Jackson. Exact details of NOLA King are under wraps, but Jackson’s character,   Russell Lee Washington Jr.,   has been described as similar to Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi. The series would be set up by a recurring arc in Tulsa King ’s third season, currently in production in Oklahoma and Atlanta, which explains why Variety ’s  telling didn’t call the single appearance they implied as a backdoor pilot. Jackson is expected to film his episodes in July, with production on NOLA King looking at a February start. 'South Park: (Not Suitable For Children)' Had Marketing Not Visible To Many

South Park completed its third year of Paramount+ specials with just 12 days until 2024, and you might not have known so until the very day it was released. “Joining the Panderverse” was released in late October. But it’s two specials a year until 2027, and “(Not Suitable For Children)” came just under the wire, with its teaser only officially being released on the day of the special’s release, December 20 in the United States and Canada.

In the special, according to the official logline South Park Elementary art teacher Ms. Streibel has a lucrative OnlyFans page, and so Randy goes balls out and decides to explore the seedy underbelly of the world of online influencers. When wife Sharon takes it on too, he grows extra competitive and doubles down, even incorporating Cred, the “hydration” drink that the South Park Elementary students are deeply into.

The special’s teaser was only featured as YouTube advertising in the last couple of weeks. Some advertising showed up as banners on websites such as GamesRadar, ScreenRant and ComicBook, and some publicly hung posters, but otherwise “(Not Suitable For Children)” had very little advertising for unknown reasons. The special’s international rollout started December 21 for the United Kingdom, Australia, Latin America, Brazil, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy on December 23, with further rollout happening later, though we haven’t quite gotten specifics in the weeks since.

The annual duo of double length specials seem to serve as the seventh through tenth episodes of South Park seasons this decade, drawing ire from Warner Bros. Discovery that triggered a lawsuit accusing under-delivery of episodes for the regular seasons that the company has rights to stream on Max. In the aftermath of the premiere, South Park Studios did upload three clips, including the below.
