'Frasier' Revival Adds 6 Guest Stars For Season 2

  Frasier is pegging its guest stars, and with its success firmly established, is getting more reaches back into its past for its Paramount+ revival’s second season, currently deep into production. It turns out, Peri Gilpin increasing her presence by recurring as Roz is attracting more old KACL friends and colleagues. Dan Butler and Edward Hibbert will be stopping by, reprising their roles as Bob “Bulldog” Briscoe and Gil Chesterton, while Amy Sedaris , Yvette Nicole Brown and Patricia Heaton will be guest starring as new characters. Star Kelsey Grammer ’s daughter Greer will be playing Roz’s daughter Alice. Of this crop, it was Sedaris’s casting that was reported first. She is set to appear as Dr. “Doc” Stathos, described as “a municipal therapist with a down home, scattered veneer. 'Dexter' Prequel Series Is Now 'Dexter: Original Sin', Gathers Morgan Family

 


Showtime’s quest to mine its previous IPs has taken multiple paths of progress this week. The one staying around is the prequel to their eight-season series Dexter, starring Michael C. Hall as the blood spatter analyst by day and killer by night. The series originally announced as Dexter: Origins is now titled Dexter: Original Sin and has cast the younger versions of not only Dexter, but his father and sister.

Shadow and Bone’s Patrick Gibson will be the new young Dexter, Christian Slater, lately of Unfrosted and The Spiderwick Chronicles, plays adoptive father Harry, and Molly Brown will play younger sister Debra. Harry and Debra were originally played by James Remar and Jennifer Carpenter respectively. The series will be available on both linear and streaming Paramount+ with Showtime.

Dexter: Original Sin begins in 1991 Miami, 15 years before the original series. Dexter is a student on his way to becoming a serial killer. Unable to ignore his bloodthirsty urges anymore, Dexter looks to his father, who teaches him a Code built to help him seek out targets who deserve to die without being caught by law enforcement. This however meets a major hurdle, coming as he begins a forensics internship at the city’s Metro Police Department.

Dexter: Original Sin is executive produced by returning showrunner Clyde Phillips and produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios. Scott Reynolds also executive produces with Hall, Mary Leah Sutton, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, with Robert Lloyd Lewis producing. Michael Lehmann will serve as directing executive producer, making a Heathers reunion for him and Slater.
