Nickelodeon and Paramount+ Set Premiere Date For 'Snow Day', The Musical Remake of The 2000 Film

That's alright, that's okay. I bet you never thought you'd hear them say that there'd be a remake of the 2000 film Snow Day, but it's happening. Nickelodeon and Paramount+ have released a trailer for the reimagining of the third film ever released by Nickelodeon Movies. With it, they revealed a premiere date.

The new movie will not only be released on Paramount+ on December 16 but air on Nickelodeon as well, similar to October's Monster High: The Movie and last year's A Loud House Christmas. Even Transformers: EarthSpark's opening two-parter got such treatment. It gets a 7 PM time slot. It's no ordinary remake either, it's a full-blown musical. It stars Ky Baldwin and Michaela Russell as siblings Hal and Natalie Brandston jubilant over their school's closure for a snow day, ready to live it to the fullest. However, Natalie wants more and doesn't want it to end. So she must challenge the town's bitter snow plow man if she wants to have that second snow day. That snow plow man, played by Chris Elliott in the original film, is played by iCarly's Jerry Trainor. Yes, the remake of the film that launched Josh Peck's Nickelodeon career now stars his Drake & Josh co-star.

While the original film also starred the likes of Jean Smart and Chevy Chase as the Brandston parents, Emanuelle Chriqui, Pam Grier and John Schneider, the remake also stars Laura Bell Bundy and Rob Huebel as the parents, Logan AultmanDominic MaricheMyles ErlickMonique Jasmine PaulDestiny RettingerLilly Bartlam, and Viggo Hanvelt. Michael Lembeck, who previously directed The J Team for the service is directing the remake. The script is still credited to Will McRobb and Chris Viscardi who may or may not be directly involved, along with Samantha Martin, who also wrote the teleplay and some original music for this version. Her credits include Henry Danger's musical episode.

Will you be watching? Spread the word and tune in!
