Paramount+ Releases Trailer For Spanish-Language Original Film 'Death's Roulette'

Paramount+ has released the trailer for one of its next original films Death's Roulette. It comes from Colombian actor-producer Manolo Cardona as his directorial debut. The suspense-thriller, known in its original Spanish as Uno para morir will stream on Paramount+ in the United States, United Kingdom Canada, Australia and Latin America on May 5. It will also be available to stream in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France and South Korea, seemingly on some later date.

Death's Roulette is written by Julieta Steinberg, Gavo Amiel and Cardona and based on Frank Ariza's original script La Terminal. It sees seven kidnapped strangers wake up in an isolated mansion, discovering they are part of a deadly game. The game? They have 60 minutes to choose one person to die but he or she has to consent to the sacrifice. Otherwise, they all die. With the clock running, their most harrowing secrets are revealed as they realize their connections to a shadowy past. The cast includes Maribel Verdú from such films as Pan’s Labyrinth and Y Tu Mamá Tambien, as well as Juan Carlos Remolina, Adriana Paz, Carla Adell, Dagoberto Gama and Fernando Becerril.

Cardona revealed principal photography took place in Mexico City, Puebla and Veracruz for six weeks. When reflecting on his first outing as a director, he said “It was a very enriching experience both artistically and personally. Creating the universe, the tone, the staging, putting my point of view on it and bringing the story to life was wonderful.” The trailer can be watched below.
