What’s Coming to Paramount+ (US) in April 2025

'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem' Gets New Release Date and Trailer Announcement

Another franchise with arcade experience is trying to replicate the big guy’s success. Today Paramount announced that they have moved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem’s release date up two days, from August 4 to August 2. 

At the end of February, Illumination and Universal moved The Super Mario Bros. Movie’s release date up from the Friday, April 7, to the Wednesday, April 5, going on to gross $1.25 billion, so the same has been done here. Paramount has also announced that the new trailer will arrive next Wednesday, May 31, probably in time to be seen in front of Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, with its preview screenings starting the next day and its official release date being June 2. 

They also released a new poster, showing the turtle brothers on their skateboards, and Donatello on his scooter, which EP and voice of Bebop Seth Rogen has discussed, calling soundtrack choices to fit something that would be heard to fit the vibes of Tony Hawk Pro Skater, in fact using songs directly used in it.

The CG-animated film emphasizes the teenage part of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, with a cast that includes Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, Brady Noon as Raphael, Micah Abbey as Donatello, and Shamon Brown Jr. as Michelangelo. The supporting cast is stacked, and of course more mutant-heavy than any previous film, with Jackie Chan as Splinter, Ayo Edebiri as April O'Neil, Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, John Cena as Rocksteady, Ice Cube as Superfly, Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko, and Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom. 

The film’s synopsis reads “After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O'Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them." Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is directed by The Mitchells vs. the Machines co-director Jeff Rowe and comes from Paramount Pictures, Point Grey Pictures, and Nickelodeon Movies. As a Paramount film, it will come to Paramount+ probably around the 46-day mark, as Paramount has been employing 45-day theatrical exclusivity windows.
