‘Queen of the Universe’ Finds New Home on WOW Presents Plus

While Star Trek: Prodigy fans await the news of a safe continuation on a new home after being expelled from Paramount+, a fellow in its expulsion class has found a home, and it goes from one plus to another. Just not one you've likely heard of

Queen of the Universe will going forward be found on the streaming service WOW Presents Plus, created and owned by its production company. World Of Wonder. Season 1 of the series is already available on the platform, and season 2, which will have only spent a week on Paramount+ actually complete, will be added on July 1, the day after its removal. Unfortunately, this excludes the United States and it's not clear why.

Queen of the Universe is a Eurovision-style competition series executive produced by RuPaul where top drag queens from countries around the world go head to head putting their real singing voices to the test. It is hosted by BAFTA-winning comedian Graham Norton, best known stateside for his talk show which airs on BBC America. He also co-hosted this year's Eurovision festivities. Season two of the competition series saw former Spice Girl Mel B join the show's returning judges consisting of singer and RuPaul’s Drag Race producer and judge (as well as on All Stars, UK, and Down Under) Michelle Visage, multi-Emmy and Grammy nominee actress and model Vanessa Williams and drag superstar Trixie Mattel. The season's competitors included Italy's Aura Eternal, Brazil's Chloe V, Jazell Royale and Militia Scunt from the United States, Love Masisi from the Netherlands, Maxie from the Philippines, Israel's Miss Sistrata, Mexico's Taiga Brava, Australia's Trevor Ashley, and Viola from the United Kingdom.

“We know the WOW Presents Plus audience will welcome this addition to the platform with open arms. We can’t wait to introduce these fierce and incredibly talented queens from around the world to our extended family,” said World of Wonder co-founders Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato. “We’re always proud to lift and showcase new talent and the second season of Queen of the Universe will be in fabulous company in its new home, sitting alongside the first season of the show, all our international iterations of Drag Race and everything else that’s WOW.”

WOW Presents Plus and World of Wonder aim to bring the underground to the mainstream. The library Queen of the Universe will join includes all international versions of Drag Race including the newest series Drag Race Mexico, and the current season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, as it produces all of those as well. The platform does carry exclusive original series including UNHhhh with Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova, however there has been no indication made that the service is capable of reviving Queen of the Universe for more seasons.
