'Happy Face' To Be Put On March 20; Watch Trailers

It’s been a rather good month for the Quaids, with  Dennis  getting to go to the  Oscars  as part of the cast of  The Substance  and his son Jack’s new film  Novocaine  from  Paramount Pictures . Well we’re getting Dennis’s next series,  Paramount+ ’s  Happy Face   this month too. The streamer has set a March 20 premiere date for the 8-episode crime drama starring Annaleigh Ashford, with two episodes that will be followed by weekly singles until the May 1 season finale. Happy Face  was first announced in 2021, released its teaser in January, its official trailer on Tuesday and is inspired by the podcast by the same name from iHeartMedia and Melissa Moore, through her true story as chronicled in her autobiography  Shattered Silence  she wrote with M. 'Grease: Rise Of The Pink Ladies' Is Now Available On Digital; DVD Coming In November

Another casualty of Paramount+'s June massacre is headed home. Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies has been announced to be receiving a home release from Paramount Home Entertainment... on its digital release date. That's right, the musical prequel series to the beloved '70s musical film is now available on digital, and will be released on DVD on November 7, 2023.

Episodes are available for $2.99 each on  Amazon Prime and the iTunes Store, with the full 10-episode season available for $19.99.

Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies premiered on April 6, 2023 and ran its ten episodes through June 1. A mere three weeks later, it was one of five original series canceled by Paramount+, the others being Star Trek: Prodigy, Queen of the Universe, The Game, and Inside Amy Schumer, and removed from the service along with five of the service's original movies and certain older originals. Of course, at the time, Rise of the Pink Ladies had no physical release, no way of watching it upon its removal and people were just as ardent pointing this out as they were with the back half of Prodigy. That included series creator Annabel Oakes, who rightfully feared complete erasure. Strangely, the press release boasts being "Exclusively Available for Home Entertainment".

The series chronicled the founding of Rydell High’s female gang known as the Pink Ladies. It starred Marisa Davila as Jane, joined by Cheyenne Isabel Wells, Ari Notartomaso, Tricia Fukuhara as Nancy and Jackie Hoffman as Vice Principal McGee. The series also features Ari Notartomaso as Cynthia, Shanel Bailey as Hazel, Johnathan Nieves as Richie, Jason Schmidt as Buddy, Madison Thompson as Susan and Maxwell Whittington-Cooper as Wally.

The DVD set comes with with more than 30 minutes of special features included. The series is still searching for a new streaming home, which is fine, it's only been a month. It took more than six for any of HBO Max's August abandonments to land at new homes: Batman: Caped Crusader and Merry Little Batman were picked up by Prime Video in March and April. Prodigy's back ten episodes had their home release announced at the start of the weekend. Coincidentally, Rise of the Pink Ladies began as Grease: Rydell High there before moving.
