'Mayor of Kingstown' Renewed For Season 3

It may not be a Western, but yet another Taylor Sheridan creation is sticking around on Paramount+Mayor of Kingstown has been renewed for a third season on the streamer.

Jeremy Renner, who stars as town mediator Mike McLusky, is set to return as he recovers from a devastating snowplow accident in January that resulted in 30 broken bones. The character of McLusky is a former inmate whose family works as mediators between the street gangs, prisoners, guards and cops in the fictional town of Kingstown, Michigan.

Having just been freshly renewed, there’s no premiere date. Season 2 ran from January 15, 2023 to March 19, so it would still probably be a bit anyway. Co-creator Hugh Dillon also co-stars as Kingstown Police Detective Ian Ferguson with Taylor Handley as youngest McLuskey brother Kyle, Emma Laird as escort Iris, Tobi Bamtefa as Crips leader Deverin "Bunny" Washington, Derek Webster as ally KPD Detective Stevie, Nishi Munshi as Kyle’s wife Tracy, Hamish Allan-Headley as Sgt. Robert Sawyer and Aidan Gillen as Russian mobster Milo Sunter.

Mayor of Kingstown tackles themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, providing a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither. Sheridan and Dillon also executive produce with executive-produce alongside Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Dave Erickson and Regina Corrado. The series is believed to be one of Paramount+’s top performing original dramas, only behind Sheridan’s 1923 and Tulsa King while in season.
