'Tulsa King' Spinoff 'NOLA King' With Samuel L. Jackson In The Works

  Saaaaaalutations! If you thought Paramount+ nabbing Sylvester Stallone to star in Tulsa King said something about what television had become, hear this out: Tulsa King has a New Orleans-set spinoff in development, aptly titled NOLA King , and it’s set to star Samuel L. Jackson. Exact details of NOLA King are under wraps, but Jackson’s character,   Russell Lee Washington Jr.,   has been described as similar to Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi. The series would be set up by a recurring arc in Tulsa King ’s third season, currently in production in Oklahoma and Atlanta, which explains why Variety ’s  telling didn’t call the single appearance they implied as a backdoor pilot. Jackson is expected to film his episodes in July, with production on NOLA King looking at a February start. South Korean Original 'Bargain' Gets Trailer And Release Date

 


Paramount+ has released a trailer and announced a premiere date for its upcoming dystopian thriller series from South Korea, BargainAll six episodes will premiere Thursday, October 5 on the streamer in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Brazil, Australia, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

In Bargain, men are lured to a remote hotel, promised sexual encounters only to be caught in a trafficking ring where their organs are sold off to the highest bidder. After a disastrous earthquake hits in the midst of one unwitting person's auction, the victims, traffickers and buyers all find themselves cut off from outside contact, trapped inside the collapsing building, where they must fight to survive the aftermath no matter what cost.


Bargain started as a 2015 short film from Lee Chung-hyun and has been adapted into a full series by writer/director Jeon Woo-sung. The series stars Jin Sun-kyu, whose credits include RevenantThose Who Read the Hearts of EvilMoney Heist: Korea's Jun Jong-seo, and Chang Ryul. It is co-written by Choi Byeong-yun and Kwak Jae-min and executive produced by showrunner and creator Byun Seungmin and Bang Jin Ho.


The series is already quite accomplished heading into its October wide release on Paramount+. It was awarded the Critics’ Choice Award at Seriencamp Festival in Cologne in June, won Best Screenplay at Canneseries Festival earlier this year, and is an official 2023 Toronto International Film Festival selection.
