'Tulsa King' Spinoff 'NOLA King' With Samuel L. Jackson In The Works

Saaaaaalutations! If you thought Paramount+ nabbing Sylvester Stallone to star in Tulsa King said something about what television had become, hear this out: Tulsa King has a New Orleans-set spinoff in development, aptly titled NOLA King , and it’s set to star Samuel L. Jackson. Exact details of NOLA King are under wraps, but Jackson’s character,   Russell Lee Washington Jr.,   has been described as similar to Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi. The series would be set up by a recurring arc in Tulsa King ’s third season, currently in production in Oklahoma and Atlanta, which explains why Variety ’s  telling didn’t call the single appearance they implied as a backdoor pilot. Jackson is expected to film his episodes in July, with production on NOLA King looking at a February start. Dave Erickson will be writing the spin-off after previously taking over showrunner duties on  Tulsa King starting with this new third  season.  He is expected to transition fro...

The Second Trailer For 'Star Trek: Lower Decks' Season 4 Levels Up Everything

Season four of Star: Trek: Lower Decks is less than a week away, and it seems Paramount+ finally saw fit to release not only a poster, but a second and presumably final trailer.

The trailer spends a lot of its time catching viewers up on what the characters have been through already, with lots of gags, action, and a surprising amount of blood. It picks moments for each character, namely Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Tendi, and Rutherford, as well as Commander Jack Ransom, Lieutenant Shaxs, Doctor T'ana, and Captain Carol Freeman

Most importantly, this post-Dominion War-set series has caught up to the return of the USS Voyager. Mariner is very excited to be on Voyager, bringing the ship back once again following the first season finale of Star Trek: Prodigy, which is set a bit later in the timeline. The rest of the new footage sees the crew of the Cerritos go on adventures that includes Boimler running from an active volcano, Tendi and Mariner visiting another Orion planet, and a scarily adorable new alien species in pursuit.

The new poster, which makes an alternative to the first which homaged The Voyage Home, features a hijacked shuttlecraft while a planet explodes in the background. The full gamut of emotions are on display. Mariner's got maniacal excitement, Boimler's absolutely terrified, Tendi's barely behind, while Rutherford's taken great joy.

To run down the voice cast, Beckett Mariner is voiced by Tawny Newsome, Brad Boimler by Jack Quaid; Tendi is voiced by Noël Wells, Sam Rutherford is voiced by Eugene Cordero, Provisional Ensign T’Lyn is voiced by Gabrielle Ruiz, and Carol Freeman is voiced by Dawnn Lewis. Jack Ransom is voiced by Jerry O’Connell, Lieutenant Shaxs is voiced by Fred Tatasciore, and Doctor T’Ana is voiced by Gillian Vigman.

Star: Trek: Lower Decks's fourth season premieres on Paramount+ on September 7, and at least one of these initial two episodes may be among the selection shown in theaters the next day as part of Star Trek Day celebrations. Watch the trailer below
