As The Chi   season 6 returns for part 2 this Friday, May 10 on the Paramount+ with Showtime streamer and Sunday, May 12 linearly at 9 PM ET/PT,  the network has renewed the series for a seventh season. The first half of season 6 has done quite well, making for its most-watched season yet for streaming,  increasing nearly 25% over season 5. Season 7  will start production later this month in Chicago. “Lena Waithe is a generational storyteller, whose authentic and unflinching narratives in  The Chi  resonate deeply, offering a powerful lens into both the complexities of life in Chicago as well as the Black experience in America,” said Nina L. Diaz, the President of Content and Chief Creative Officer at Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and Paramount Media Networks. “On the heels of a record-breaking season and ahead of this week’s return, we’re excited to provide fans with the promise of more – ensuring that they can continue to enjoy the raw, emotional stories and unforgettable cha

'The Thundermans Return' Trailer Premieres During Nickelodeon’s Super Bowl Coverage

The return of thunder looms over Nickelodeon and Paramount+. The network and the streamer released the trailer for The Thundermans Returnthe revival movie for their 2013-2018 superhero sitcom The Thundermansduring halftime of the network’s broadcast of Super Bowl LVIII between the San Francisco 49ers and eventual winner Kansas City ChiefsGamecaller Noah Eagle threw it alone to stars and executive producers Jack Griffo and Kira Kosarin for their segment where the trailer debuted, which preceded an Usher performance that would make the Kids Choice Awards blush.

After several shots in the pre-play portion showing off the visual effects in power displays and approaching meteor, the trailer properly begins with the inciting incident, the setback that sends them back to their old home in Hiddenville, where it’s Max (played by Griffo)’s vanity and/or social media dependency that gets the T-Force fired. Maya Le Clark as youngest child Chloe is excited to be back. Harvey Guillén’s Cousin Blobbin seems to visit quite quickly after they arrive. It seems most of Phoebe (played by Kosarin) and Max’s friends haven’t moved out of town in the years gone by, namely Cherry, played by Audrey Whitby, and Max’s old bandmates, but I’m not as familiar with the more minor recurrers. I could only verify Gideon, played by Kenny Ridwan. Their next-door neighbor and restaurateur Mrs. Wong, played by Helen Hong is none-too-pleased with their return, as they only bring bad memories. Dana Snyder is confirmed back as Dr. Colosso, still a rabbit again. This is certainly a hefty fulfillment already of the promise of “familiar faces and locations”, as Billy and Nora, played by Diego Velasquez and Addison Riecke are giddy to attend the high school Phoebe and Max did, getting that full, normal experience.

There’s a revenge plot, a team up of three villains, including Paul F. Tompkins returning as King Crab. The YouTube description indicates there will also be new villains again, but with incomplete familiarity, discerning can’t quite be achieved. Max and Phoebe are determined to get their superhero jobs back. The meteor attack from the teaser makes up the 0:55-1:05 span. The masked villain is very familiar with Max, and captures him and Phoebe, so a rescue is likely in order.
