'Evil' Sets Specific May Date For Final Season; Watch The Trailer

It’s almost time for one last creature creep as the official trailer for the final season of Paramount+ original series Evil shows. The most demonetized season of television will premiere on May 23, and will run 14 episodes: the standard 10 episode season streaming loves, plus the four wrap-up episodes that were granted when the end was announced, and have already begun production in New York City. Don’t be surprised if such placement has been made for a straight runthrough with no breaks between the two parts.

The final season will see Kristen (played by Katja Herbers), David (Mike Colter) and Ben (Aasif Mandvi) continue to assess cases that involve “wayward technology, possessed pigs, demonic oppression and infestation, a dance muse conjured by alleged witches and an evil relic”. As this all goes on, Leland (Michael Emerson) will try to coax Kristen into raising a baby antichrist created from her egg, that will be born early enough to be a long-standing problem. Of course, being a demonic baby, vomit is a given. David is recruited by the Vatican’s secret service to “remote view” a paranormal ability to see the unseen in order to detect evil. After being hit by an ion beam, Ben hallucinates an antagonistic jinn until he can find an ultimately atypical way to banish it. However, they’re on the clock when the parish decides to disband the team they only have a few weeks left to assess cases because there’s no money left. It all leads up to one last face-off with Leland and The 60, the demonic houses depicted on the map of sigils frequently referenced by the main trio, finally revealing who they are.

Kurt Fuller, Andrea Martin, Christine Lahti, Brooklyn Shuck, Skylar Gray, Maddy Crocco and Dalya Knapp are the season’s other main cast members. With God as series co-creators Robert and Michelle King’s witness, this really is the end of the horror-fueled road for the series. The four bonus episodes are treated like a short season 5. They are thus not planning to shop the series to other outlets. The creators also promise a definitive fate for Leland. Evil is produced by CBS Studios in association with the Kings’ production company King Size Productions. They, Liz Glotzer, Rockne S. O’Bannon and Sam Hoffman serve as executive producers. Watch the trailer below.
