It's Mighty Time For The 'Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie' Trailer
After having been promised on Friday upon the release of new images, Nickelodeon and Paramount followed through on Monday by releasing the trailer for Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie, the sequel to 2021's massively successful Paw Patrol: The Movie, the first big screen adventure for the Paw Patrol series.
An adaptation of the "Mighty Pups" saga of the series, which itself kicked off with a TV movie, this version involves Marsai Martin's Liberty, a character introduced in the first movie and is movie-exclusive. When a magical meteor crashes into Adventure City, exposure gives the PAW Patrol team superpowers, transforming them into the Mighty Pups, For Skye, the smallest member of the team, her new powers are a dream come true, so she can feel more appreciated. Meanwhile Humdinger breaks out of jail and teams up with a meteor-obsessed mad scientist Victoria Vance, voiced by Taraji P. Henson, seeking to steal the superpowers to become supervillains. Skye, normally voiced by Kelly Bartlam, is now voiced by McKenna Grace, who has played young Emma Swan, young Carol Danvers, and young Sabrina Spellman before starring in Ghostbusters Afterlife.
The film stars Finn Lee-Epp replacing Will Brisbin as Ryder, who is normally voiced by Kai Harris, Luxton Handspiker continuing as Rubble, which he began on the spinoff Rubble & Crew, and the returning Martin, Ron Pardo as Humdinger and Cap'n Turbot, and Callum Shoniker back as Rocky. Christian Convery is the new voice of Chase, who was voiced by Young Sheldon's Iain Armitage in the previous film and is normally voiced by Justin Kelly. Christian Corrao, the latest voice of Marshall, the 6-year-old firefighting Dalmatian, succeeded Kingsley Marshall in the time between films. Nylan Parthipan as Zuma is in a similar position, succeeding Shayle Simons.
In the time since the date was moved up, Chris Rock was revealed to be voicing a kitty who gained the ability to speak from the crystal. The roles for Lil Rel Howery, James Marsden, Serena Williams, and Kristen Bell have yet to be disclosed. Kim Kardashian is back as Delores, the animal shelter-working poodle. Her two oldest children, North and Saint West, also have roles with North voicing Mini, a Pomeranian in Liberty's Junior Patrollers. She has teammates including Alan Kim as Nano and Brice Gonzalez as Tot. Saint's role has not been revealed yet either. Cal Brunker returns as director, from his and Bob Barlen's script. Jennifer Dodge, Laura Clunie and Toni Stevens are producers. Barlen also serves as an associate producer.
The trailer seems to have enforced the return of the 2008 splat logo of Nickelodeon Movies hinted at by marketing for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. It is set to an on-the-nose "The Power" andcan be watched below. Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie is set for an exclusive theatrical release on September 29, which means it should be on Paramount+ by Thanksgiving.
