‘Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Gives Look At New Bishop, Mechazoids, Original Mutants

There's just about a month until the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles of last year’s hit Mutant Mayhem film return for the Paramount+ original series Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtlespremiering August 9. Nickelodeon has provided a full on look of the villains that will be appearing in the 12-episode series, showcasing who is filling the void as many of the mutants who traditionally make up something of a rogues gallery in the franchise are currently positioned as allies.

The trailers have been very open about its iteration of Bishop, now an older woman voiced by Alanna Ubach, whose bigotry-fueled plan to exterminate mutants includes isolating the brothers and forcing them to fight on their own. We also get a good look at the Mechazoids, robotic figures who may or may not be hers. While she may be the season’s arc villain, there are still other mutants directly filling the void under the circumstances, and the three showcased here seem to all be aquatic: Mustang Sally the seahorse, Lee the Eel, because who doesn’t love palindromes, and Goldfin, a goldfish. It’ll be intriguing to find out just how they get these names. Unfortunately, these reveals didn’t come with character descriptions, and their voices are still to be announced, along with whoever else is in the guest cast. Only Rod, the rich but lazy superfan of the Turtles has had his Pete Davidson voice otherwise revealed.

As previously reported, the Mutant Mayhem voices of all four Turtles are reprising their roles, Micah Abbey as Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. as Michelangelo, Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, and Brady Noon as Raphael, and even Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil. The 12-episode event making up this first season of Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will premiere Friday, August 9 on Paramount+ in the United States and Canada. The United Kingdom and Australia get it next day, Saturday, August 10, with further international rollout to be announced. With Mutant Mayhem’s sequel set for an October 9, 2026 release the two-season series that was ordered to be the bridge will likely plant its second season somewhere in 2025.
