'Tulsa King' Spinoff 'NOLA King' With Samuel L. Jackson In The Works

Saaaaaalutations! If you thought Paramount+ nabbing Sylvester Stallone to star in Tulsa King said something about what television had become, hear this out: Tulsa King has a New Orleans-set spinoff in development, aptly titled NOLA King , and it’s set to star Samuel L. Jackson. Exact details of NOLA King are under wraps, but Jackson’s character,   Russell Lee Washington Jr.,   has been described as similar to Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi. The series would be set up by a recurring arc in Tulsa King ’s third season, currently in production in Oklahoma and Atlanta, which explains why Variety ’s  telling didn’t call the single appearance they implied as a backdoor pilot. Jackson is expected to film his episodes in July, with production on NOLA King looking at a February start. Dave Erickson will be writing the spin-off after previously taking over showrunner duties on  Tulsa King starting with this new third  season.  He is expected to transition fro...

Paramount+ Brings A Light Menu To New York Comic-Con

Paramount+ has announced their plans for New York Comic-Con, being held from October 12-15, bringing never-before-seen content, first-look reveals, an immersive themed booth experience, and advance screenings. However, whether due to studios not entertaining negotiations with their striking writers and actors or it just not being San Diego, it's a very light offering of programming this year.

In addition, Paramount+ will debut its first-ever “Peak Screaming” event at the Javits Center on Saturday, October 14, inviting goers to step into an immersive celebration of the Halloween season, inspired by the service’s popular horror offerings with refreshments, dancing and spooky enchantments. Paramount+ also will mark its return to the convention floor with an interactive booth space, Booth #1723, which will include exclusive photo opportunities and more.

In honor of all things evil, Evil's panel will be held appropriately on Friday the 13th, celebrating the upcoming fourth season. Fans will get to see a sneak peek from it with a screening of a fan-favorite episode and a trivia contest entirely about the show, with winnable merch prizes. It will be from 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. ET in room 405.

This year, amongst the Star Trek universe, Lower Decks is coming alone. There will be an advance screening of one of the three episodes of the current fourth season that will remain by the time the convention happens, with exciting reveals and surprises promised for the panel, happening Saturday, October 14, 1:45 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. ET on the Empire Stage.

Much like we saw with SDCC, it's very likely that those on these panels will be directors and executive producers. It's why the only other discovered Nickelodeon presence thus far is "Water, Earth, Fire, Air: Continuing the Avatar Legacy". This is a panel also happening Saturday October 14 but in Room 406.1 from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM, where the network brings Abrams Books, Dark Horse Comics, and Magpie Games's creators and writers of their Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra products, such as Mike Maihack, to explore the world because the actors can't.

"Hold the Sauce! Good Burger is Back!" is all about Good Burger 2, with never before seen footage and artwork from the upcoming film. It's happening Sunday, October 15, 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. ET on the Main Stage. However, in addition to the panel, a detailed recreation of the famed restaurant will be set up, outfitted with props and signage from the new movie's set, including the Good Shake machine, tables and tabletop elements, sauce bottles and more. Smash as many burgers as possible with other players before time runs out in the original game Good Burger Smash, approved by Ed himself. Fans can take pictures at the restaurant too, inside a virtual milkshake machine and in front of a giant burger. This panel was also held at SDCC, but had its panelists pared down once the strike began.
